Sound insulation and soundproofing in recording studio or hi-fi studio

Sound studio foamThe acoustics or sound insulation and soundproofing in the recording studio or HiFi studio, or the room acoustics, are of crucial importance for crystal-clear, professional and well-tuned recordings. The acoustics you perceive yourself in the studio are also particularly important. In the following, we will explain how you can achieve perfect studio acoustics in your recording studio or hi-fi studio with our foam products. In the following, we will address two problems that our customers in this field often describe to us. First, creating perfect studio acoustics, i.e. acoustics inside the room, as well as sound insulation or noise protection to the outside, in case you have problems with adjacent rooms (or neighbors, etc.).  Be sure to also check out this sample recording studio building.  Achieving perfect acoustics in a recording studio or hi-fi studio.

Here we are talking about improving acoustics INSIDE the room - that is, not about sound insulation to the outside (we explain insulation to the outside of the recording studio below). The main task is to generate balanced acoustics. Our Basotect foams are ideally suited for this purpose in the form of flat, pyramid and decorative panels. The advantage of this material: it does not yellow (Attention: cheap white foams usually yellow - so choose a foam that does not turn yellow or use dark PU foams, where the yellowing process is not so noticeable). Our Basotect foam is white or light gray, so it leaves the light in the rooms nice and bright, and it is flame retardant, so it can be used anywhere. Alternatively, you can use our anthracite-colored Micropor foams - as dimpled foam or pyramid foam or flat foam (we will explain the difference of these foams further down this page). We do not recommend other, cheaper foams in this area, as you probably want to achieve the best possible recordings or the best possible room sound. What thickness acoustic foam should I use in my recording studio and how much do I need?

With our acoustic foam you will achieve perfect recordings in the recording studio. To ensure that you also dampen the right frequencies, the thickness of the panels and the quantity is quite crucial. It is true that the thicker you choose the foam, the lower frequencies will be damped. Therefore, we have listed frequency tables in the product descriptions for our Basotect foam and Micropor foams so you know which sheets absorb how much. Ideally, you know your frequencies in the recording studio. But you can also estimate whether you are more likely to have flutter echoes in the mid or high frequency range from 200Hz and above, or whether you can hear bass booms and bass drones and thus need thicker plates or even our bass absorbers. For higher frequencies our acoustic foams with thicknesses from 3cm to 5cm are suitable. For lower frequencies, it should be 7cm to 10cm or more. Also note that pyramid foams or dimpled foams, at the same thickness, always absorb less than planar foams. With flat foams you absorb more broadband - with pyramids or nubs mainly in the higher frequency range - even if you use especially thick pyramids or nubs.

If you have problems in the recording studio mainly in the mid/higher frequency range, pyramids and nubs are equally suitable - here you have to decide which shape you like better. Pyramids are often preferred, however, because they blend into each other virtually without a seam - with nubs you can always see an offset at the edges. The more you clad, the quieter the room will be, as more sound waves will also be swallowed in the respective frequency range. As a rough guide, you can assume that for a Tonstuido with a floor area of 20m², for example, you need to clad about 20m² and more. You can use either the ceiling or the walls as well as both mixed.  If you line 100% of the surfaces, the room will be anechoic and you will no longer have reverberation in the studio. This is intentional for some recording studios if you want to add natural effects afterwards to the then "dry" recording - with professional software this is possible. Many recording studios, however, opt for a middle ground. In the hi-fi studio, on the other hand, you don't completely disguise everything. Here, of course, the invidiual taste plays a big role. But if you line approx. 15m² in a 20m² room, you already have a rough guideline to which you can adhere.Foam we also offer in refinedTranslated with

TUI Cruises advertises its "feel-good" ships. In fact, TUI focuses more on the feel-good factor. On board, you can visit the sauna with sea view free of charge or afford one of the feel-good treatments.Of course, there is also a wellness area on the AIDA ships. However, this is not free of charge. For a day ticket, you have to reckon with costs of about 20 euros. On the newest ships, even the use of the sauna is no longer included in the cruise fare, but must be paid for separately. If you are looking for action, you are not necessarily in the right place on Mein Schiff. There are, of course, various shows in the theater. However, you will hardly find the kind of exuberant atmosphere that prevails in the "Brauhaus" on the AIDA, for example, on the Mein Schiff.Translated with
